Thousands of Canadian geese use the pond along the southwest of our property in the spring and fall migrations. This will be the view from the south side of the studio.
They were trucked in from Phelps Cement, a local company.
The first blocks go in on the south side. The little jog will be the hallway from the existing house.
The masons are hard at work, with the dust from the cutting and shaping of the blocks visible on the right. This will be the south side of the new structure -- and Yes, it's cold today.

This is the end of the first day of block work, and the masons will be back tomorrow. They have turned the corner on the north end and will be working on a nine-foot wall here to support the timber frame.
