Dry wall Day2

The area between wall board and timber is squared off with the addition of plastic strips. This facilitates the adding of "mud", and the corner braces add stability.

Darlene mixes up the dry compound for use on the walls and corners. She describes the mixture as providing a hard finish that covers well and dries in 90 minutes.

Darlene works in one of the closets. She is the daughter of the owner of Tucker Drywall, has two brothers who work along side, and her long-time boyfriend was here installing yesterday. It's a bit unusual to see a real family business in this day and age.

The west wall has been taped and the nails covered. The corner and closets have also received their first coat. Marcia is not surprised that a woman has been assigned the more difficult and essential finishing job!

Its too bad that some of the men wear more colorful shirts than the woman.
