Design Walls

In preparation for construction of the design area, the polyester batting which will serve as the first layer of padding for the homosote base stands ready for measurement and cutting.

Marcia irons the flannel sheets. They were measured and cut to fit the doors and the design wall. They were ordered from the Vermont Country Store and made in Portugal. This part of the job was completed late last night.

Tad and Eric attach the batting and flannel to one of the closet doors. All five doors on the north side wall are covered and available for design activities. The men are skilled craftsmen and devised a purposeful system of assembly that resulted in a superior finished product.

The homosote for the main design space on the west wall is fastened. Like the closet doors, this area will be covered with batting and flannel. Banks of wall-washing lights will project from above both this area and the doors.
