Warm Friday
We started the day with transmitting this photo to painter Jim Deacon. The replaced bottom board and border trim will need calking and painting. We will repaint the whole wall and are also discussing replacement of the propane tanks with our provider.
The afternoon was spent at our old employer, Finger Lakes Community College, where a tree planting took place in memory of our long-serving president, Dr. Charles Meder. The first chairperson of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Collins Carpenter of Canandaigua, is shown preparing his remarks.
The new performing arts center, funded by the Sands family of Canandaigua Wine Company (Constellation Brands) is completed and functioning on the campus. The lawn seating provides a nice view of Canandaigua Lake.
A look at some of the college buildings. We both started at the opening of the college in 1968. Marcia left at the end of 1983 to start her computer programming business, and Bill retired in 1991.
