Oswego Opening

Marcia is pictured next to her Jet Trails #5, which is hanging in the exhibition, "A Personal Landscape: Contemporary Art Quilts."

Nineteen New York State artists were asked to contribute thematic quilts for the show. Several of them were present at the opening.

The show was held at the Tyler Art Gallery on the SUNY Oswego campus. Laurene Buckley, the gallery director and a long-time friend of Pat Pauly's, welcomes the guests and introduces Pat.
Pat's quilt is on the wall behind her.

Pat begins her gallery lecture, where she defined the artists' use of fiber as the expressive medium. There is another gallery in the building, and Pat also helped hang the photography show in that space. She just completed a five-day workshop with Nancy Crow in Auburn, NY, and will be participating in the Clothesline Festival this weekend. Needless to say, she's a dynamo and a true Energizer bunny!

The show is open until October 19th, and the Tyler Gallery is right off the main drive onto the campus. We hope you'll get to see this terrific show. For more pictures see http://www.priscillakibbee.blogspot.com/ and http://www.quilterb-bethsblog.blogspot.com/.

Bill discusses the "old days" at SUNY Geneseo with artist Ren Vasiliev (on the right) and her colleague from the teaching staff in the Geography Department. He actually remembers the question on the final of his geography course at the same college 50 years ago. Of course, he also can't remember what he had for breakfast yesterday! Such are the vagaries of old age!!
