Installation Day

The Rochester Area Fiber Artists group is preparing the display area for their upcoming show, "New Year New Directions," at the Arts and Cultural Council, 277 North Goodman Street, Rochester, NY. This is the second time the group has presented in this venue.

The show is open January 6 - 30, 2009. The opening reception is January 16 from 5 - 8 pm, and it is open Saturday, January 17.

The quilts are laid out on the floor around the room in their initial placement. Jeanne, Donna, and Val are hard at work on the construction of hanging hardware.

Some serious discussion takes place as Jeanne, Pat, and Nancy ponder the next move. Pat Pauly has a history as a professional curator and exhibit installer and kindly offers her practiced eye to the task at hand.

The wall fills up with colorful contributions. Donna, Val, and Pat are checking final placements. Jeanne has her oven mitts ready to go for focusing the lighting on the pieces.
