Our feral barn kitty remains on site and eagerly awaits her twice-daily feeding.
She is friendly, if at a distance, and has quite a ritual of repeated behaviors upon human approach.
One of the most interesting is her checking the large gargage can we have baited to capture possums who seem to be attracted by the rinds of cooked winter squash (Who knew?).
They climb in to eat and are unable to get back up the deep sides, and are ready for disposal.
Some mice also fall prey to the same temptation, and Millie checks several times a day to see if they are present.
If so, she hops in and has a snack. Being agile and strong, she can jump out easily and return to her warm bed.
She is the undisputed Queen of the barn!
