Mincemeat


A holiday tradition no less... 

We can the pears from our own trees at harvest time.  This year was bountiful, and we beat the deer to most of the crop.  With the extra pears, we canned pear mincemeat.  The apples were picked from our Mitsu tree in late fall. 

The result is these two wonderful mincemeat-apple pies.  Yum-yum!

Hi Marcia! just wanted to drop by and say Happy New Year, and how much I enjoy keeping up with you and your work on your blog. Almost as good as seeing you in person! (although I would have loved to see you in person when those pies were being served...)
